AOSHRI Establishment Objectives
The main objective of establishing the Asian Occupational Safety & Health Research Institute (AOSHRI) is to provide a platform for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) collaboration among member countries, including:
- To discuss the current progress of OSH collaboration research and ongoing projects.
- To utilize the information shared by each country to identify new emerging OSH issues.
- To consolidate emerging OSH issues through new collaborative projects among member countries.
- To share OSH practices among AOSHRI members.
- To facilitate a greater exchange of ideas and advance OSH knowledge and innovation.
- To establish systems to evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of collaborative efforts and their impact on OSH outcomes.
- To work towards the harmonization and standardization of OSH practices and regulations across member countries.
- To facilitate coordinated responses to OSH-related crises and emergencies, ensuring member countries can effectively manage and mitigate risks.
AOSHRI now has members from more than 13 countries in Asia, including Brunei, China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The first AOSHRI meeting was initiated and held in 2004 by the National Institute of Industrial Health, Japan. The previous AOSHRI meetings are as follows:
